Content

In MenuPlat, content refers to the individual visual layouts or media items that are displayed on your digital screens. Think of content items as the slides in a presentation — each one shows something specific, and they play in sequence as part of a playlist.

Content management page

A content item is a single screen layout that can include:

  • Product listings — Display menu items with names, prices, and photos from your product catalogue
  • Images — Static promotional images, seasonal specials, or branding visuals
  • Videos — Short video clips for promotions or brand storytelling
  • Custom layouts — Designed screens combining multiple elements (product grid, featured item, pricing table, etc.)

MenuPlat includes a built-in layout editor that lets you design content without any graphic design software. You can:

  • Choose from pre-built layout templates (menu board, featured product, category grid, etc.)
  • Add your logo and brand colors
  • Select which products or categories to display
  • Configure text, fonts, and styling
  • Preview how the content looks before publishing

The layout editor is available on Professional and Enterprise plans.

Content items don’t play directly on screens — they are added to playlists, which are then assigned to screens. This separation gives you flexibility:

  • The same content item can appear in multiple playlists
  • You can update a content item and it automatically updates everywhere it’s used
  • You can reorder, add, or remove content from a playlist without recreating anything
